Rosewell Ruin
- AiP jammers will learn masonry stabilization skills from an expert brick mason, who specializes in historic structures.
- Two archaeologists, who head the Fairfield Foundation, will lead excavation work near the Rosewell ruin.
- Jammers will take excursions to various colonial-era sites.
Rosewell, a colonial-era mansion, marked it's 300th anniversary in 2025. It has been more than 100 years since the great mansion was ravaged by fire. The past century has seen the negative impacts of weathering and invasive plant growth. The ruin is being stabalized so that it will continue to illustrate the stories and lessons passed through the generations. Thane Harpole, Co-Director of the Fairfield Foundation that manages the site, explans that without preservation and interpretation of historic sites like Rosewell, we risk losing the informed perspectives we now have on the difficult lessons learned over the past 300 years.
