Spend a week supporting ongoing conservation efforts at the Burgie glasshouse, or greenhouse. Learn the intricacies of glasshouse conservation while you polish your glass cutting and glazing skills to make this elegant Edwardian greenhouse functional again. 

Discover the Burgie Estate’s history and features: the ruins of a medieval castle, an Edwardian greenhouse, an elegant country home, and a man named Hamish who is dedicating his property to conservation. Lodging in Findhorn is minutes from the coast and the North Sea.

Two afternoon/evening excursions to nearby historic sites of the group's choice.

Sunday: Meet and greet fellow jammers.

Monday - Friday: Hands-on conservation work, focused on glazing central greenhouse. 2 afternoon excursions.

Saturday morning: Departure.


We can arrange pickup at Inverness Airport or train station.

Return transport to Inverness.

Bring clothing that is appropriate for the temperatures and also protective while working. Rain is always possible, so bring sturdy, close-toed shoes and adequate rain gear. Please be conscious that safety is an important issue at any work site.

Ground transportation between Inverness Airport & lodging.

Fee includes lodging, along with meals from dinner on Sunday of arrival through breakfast on Saturday of departure.

 Payment is due in full no later than 30 days prior to the start of the trip.

  • If your choice of session is not available, you will be notified immediately, and you may choose between enrolling in another session with places available or receiving a full refund.
  • A non-refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of registration. The deposit may be applied toward attending another project only if you cancel more than 60 days prior to the project start date.
  • If you cancel more than 30 days before the start of the project and have paid the fee in full, you will receive a refund of 50% of the fee. The remaining 50% is nonrefundable.
  • No refund is possible within 30 days of project start or during the project.
  • All payments made to Adventures in Preservation by the participant to attend a project will be refunded if Adventures in Preservation cancels the project.
  • Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended.
