Spend a week - or two - pitching in on preservation efforts at the historic Sommer House, affectionately known as the Cracker House, for its assocation with the inventor of the Premium Saltine Cracker. Learn and apply building restoration skills as you work, enjoy the ambiance of this friendly Midwestern city.

Trip includes ample time to explore St. Joseph's fascinating history and stunning architectural heritage.
One-week trip dates: May 28 - June 3, 2017 and June 4 -10, 2017

Sunday: Arrival; meet and greet at Cracker House cookout.
Monday-Friday: Discussion of daily work and skills involved, followed by hands-on training and work. Several excursions will take place during the week.
Saturday: Departure for those staying one week; excursions for those attending for two weeks.
We can arrange pickup from the Kansas City International Airport for those who do not wish to rent a car. Driving time from Kansas to St. Joseph is about 1 hour.

Bring clothing that is appropriate for the temperatures and also protective while working. Please be conscious that safety is an important issue at any work site.
